Fathoms Deep and The House Along the Way: Presale Info, Signed Books, a Huge Giveaway and More
First of all, a big welcome to new subscribers. If you haven’t already, you can pick up some free reads from my website. I write mainly dark fantasy meshed with paranormal romance, although I do like to cross-genres and you’ll find a bit of everything across my series (not always romantic, either). The two free books available were written in 2011 and 2012. They’re short introductions and light/fun reads, but it’s fair to say my writing has changed a bit since then. Nevertheless, they are still a fair first step into my paranormal fantasy worlds. Both series from those books get very dark as you go into them (just so you know - if you need trigger warnings, please email me directly). Thanks for giving them a try :)
And now onto other news...
Fathoms Deep is ready to roll out on 30th April. ARC readers have their copies and the first review from Nancy Allen is on BookBub if you’re logged in.

This book has been a total pleasure to write. While ‘Blood Shadow’ is not a series as such, if future books get written that solely focus on Laura and Roman’s lives, you will find them under the ‘Blood Shadow’ sub-title. (You do need to read Blood Shadow before Fathoms Deep.)
After the Eye of the Storm series (books 1 to 6), here is the reading order for what I call the interim books: Blood Shadow, Aftershock, After the Storm Novelettes, Fathoms Deep, and 13 Days (five novels/paperback books in total, although After the Storm is made up of four novelettes).
If you’ve been out of the loop, Blood Shadow tells Selena’s continuing story from Eye of the Storm; Aftershock tells Jasmine’s story along with Pete and Beth’s; After the Storm focuses on what happens with Lydia, Ryan, Taylor, and Lawrence, and all three of these books meet at their ends in terms of time and events.
Fathoms Deep continues drectly on from Blood Shadow and concludes Selena’s story for now, with massive hints of what is to come in the future for all characters.
13 Days (published end of August) goes back in time to tell Amelia and Hendrickson’s story, small but important parts of which will have relevance to events in the New Reign legacy series to come.
The interim books show you how I’m building up the characters and the world at large.

The House Along the Way
written as Elysa Summers
If contemporary romance and women’s fiction is more your thing, The House Along the Way is also ready for roll out on 14th May. A few reviews have come in which you can find on Goodreads. Please bear in mind this is situational and character-driven fiction with generally a slower pace than my fantasy fiction. The focus here is on realism (insofar as is possible in fiction), relationship and family dymanics, and personal growth.
Everyone feared him; she feared nothing.
The house off the single road between the edge of the village and the nearest town belongs to the last of the McIntosh brothers. For years, the McIntosh family have been rumoured to be violent and possibly psychotic. Possibly murderers. And Kenneth – now a complete recluse – has not escaped the whispered stories that have veiled his kin for generations.
Ella Tennant is loved and looked after by her whole village, for she was born with a rare genetic condition that means she cannot feel fear. Her free-spirited, optimistic nature and her obsessive need to sketch everything she sees have carried her through her challenges.
“Stay away from that house along the way,” she’s always been told. But her curiosity has finally snared her – it’s the one thing in her village she’s never sketched. Pen and paper in hand, Ella strides towards the forbidden...
When a terrifying man and a woman who can never know terror meet, a fuse is lit and sparks fly. In each other lies the understanding that has always been out of reach.
But the villagers aren’t ready to hear a different story. And for the first time, Ella’s sunny disposition may not be enough to win them over.
